Yes they were serious. I have let my thoughts known to the Manager and he is contacting Nissan. Apparently there has been quite a few complaints about it.

A bit harsh. I loved my D40, which I had for 7 years, but recently upgraded to a NP300 STX. So far I am very happy with the new Nav, but letting the D40 go was very hard.

My 2008 STX goes in on Monday for a new timing chain and injectors under the extended warranty I very luckily purchased. I have been complaining for the last three services (30,000 K) that the vehicle lacked power and used a lot more fuel. Hopefully the new injectors and chain will fix things

Sorry I can't shed much more light than that. I suppose that if he had been flogging the car on the beach and then pulled up without idleing for a while it may have caused the fire. It could just be a faulty wiring loom or anything else.

They had it at straddie, parked out the front of the store and it just caught fire. Apparently the tow truck driver said that this is the 4th one he has seen, something with the wiring being to close to the turbo? It sounds a bit suspect, but has anyone heard of this before?
