Thanks Tony. Mine is in the VIN range. I though that just a aftermarket bullbat would be enough for the latch and free springs. Any reason why I couldn't go back to the original dealer?

Yep had good reads of all the threads. I just guess I want to make sure the car is in tip top shape and it's the first diesel I've owned so I'm just getting accustomed to the diesel vs petrol differences. Will type of fuel and oil contribute to te smoking too, especially in a manual as well...

Nope just standard suspension and all apart from the front bar.

Sorry to drag up this thread although I took my Navara in yesterday for the recall notices. They replaced the alloys, although the service person said I did not need the bonnet latch, and because I have a aftermarket bar on it (ARB) then its void anyhow. Does this seem correct?

Thanks to everyone who replied. It looks as though it was a combination of some loose nuts on the bracket and also a bolt was missing out of the bottom of the steps. Put a bolt in there and it seems to have improved it as best as they can be. Looks to have taken a few knocks in the past...

Hi all, I just bought a 07 Navara, so I joined the forum. Have a couple of things Im wanting to get fixed up, the side step is loose. The previous owner said tightening the nut doesnt appear to fix it, so for the factory side steps, it it bolted to the floor via a welded bolt? Any way to fix...
