I rarely go over 3k. Tend to change around the 2.5k-3k rpm. And I agree at 3k it sounds like its revving it's nuts off. :)

Thanks for the plate John. Put it in today, and my initial thoughts are that the power delivery is smoother across the gear changes. Its probably more noticeable on mine as it has 200,000+ kms on it. I will monitor to see if it as smokey as before.

Yeah you do get used to it, but slightly annoying at times. It appears maybe Spanish ones have the tint band while Thai built ones dont? My neighbour has a 11/12 STX and there is no tint band on the screen.

The vents should be fine as they are angled, I think I was just a bit careless when I had the pressure sprayer under the car going nuts with it, and didnt event realise there was a vent there. However, the two other holes on either side, I'll be getting some grommets for them.

Thanks. I called a smaller glass company and they sourced one without the band. He said the aftermarket company has just recently released it without the tinting band. I've booked it in for next week to be replaced.

I might have to look at seat options if I have no luck with aftermarket glass. I did call Obriens today too and they said only with the tinting, although they are looking around to see if they can get one without. What is interesting is the vehicle standards guidelines state the band cant...

Is your band as wide as 23cm odd though? Can a few people measure theirs to compare? Its a aftermarket screen although most of the screens Ive seen on the Navara's have a pretty big tint band.
