You spend all week sniffing cow shit and on the weekend you want to sniff horse shit, you definitely are a cut above the rest.

Got any rain yet Krafty, Still hot and dry here the grass has dried now except the paddocks that were cut for hay there nice and green

They tell us to expect 30-40mm tomorrow morning which would be about right because the farm has dried out really well in the last two weeks and tomorrow we are due to start making the sheep run from the bottom paddock to the top paddock and the track between is about a 70 degree incline of dirt and rock, 30mm will make it a 70 degree skating rink.

30 or 40 would be good up here give the irrigation a break, All the wheat is headed and they stripped the pyrethrum yesterday

We've got a natural dam and water course on this property and landcare pay us to maintain it (to some degree) so we shouldn't run out of water on this property but we only use the water for the cows and sheep at the moment and there is only about 50 moos and 25 baas on the entire place right now so we aren't in desperate need of water.

The property further up the road is a bit different, there is about 90 moos and 30 baas and the second dam doesn't have a pump on it so we rely on three concrete water tanks to feed the troughs so rain is always welcome.

If we were really desperate we could pump water from the creek but I doubt we'd ever get that desperate. We have enough firewood on the farms to last the entire town for the rest of the decade though.
