I work on very large diesels for a living. 190Nm by hand is getting up there. You'll need big leverage. Was that number from documentation or a facebook mechanic?

Mine did the same thing last year. While it was sitting in the driveway with the engine running! Cost me $300+ to get the local lockie with his tools. He said a lot of cars do it randomly and they dunno why. They get call outs for plenty of euro brands. Apparently the old D40 is a much faster...

Yeah I had a 1970 Datsun 1600 for over 20 years. It went through a few different configurations. 'Twas much easier to work on than a modern diesel 4x4!

You might have mixed polarity if it's sounding strange or lacking volume/punch...?

You mentioned you'd had the auto trans semi-disassembled? Was the shifter/linkages/switches/loom/inhibitor disturbed? If not, disregard my first post....I was just joining dots... If so, use a multi-meter to check continuity in the selector / inhibitor circuits while you move the gear selector...

Check that the TCU/ECU is getting the signal for P for Park or N for neutral. If the gear selector switches are in any other position you'll get no start..

Yeah I don't think it will matter much either way. 5w30 is quite "thin" so it should allow some initial wear-in to occur (?) ....good wear-in that is! ....and keeping the rebuild warranty is more important than any difference in oils. I know from experience that the amount of time, effort...

I got around to looking at a wiring diagram today. The wire colours seem to correlate to my Nav and the tweeter circuit is shown, so I think it's the right diagram (so many different Navs over the years!) It looks like the output for the tweeters is spliced into the wires for the door speakers...
