Hi. I have a 2008 Nissan narvara D40 petrol duel cab Spanish made., just wondering I have to get struts and ball joints I heard they are different

I don't know. I have a Thai D40 so I'm not familiar with the ball joints on the Spain other than they're different to mine. Someone on this forum should know.

Hi. I have a 2008 Nissan narvara D40 petrol duel cab Spanish made., just wondering I have to get struts and ball joints I heard they are different

Putting the title and your post together suggests you're going to purchase front struts and ball joints and want to know if Spain and Thai are different. If that's your inquiry ... the struts are the same for either Thai or Spain but both upper and lower ball joints are different. So make sure...

Cruise control turns on but won't set

Yes I remember your posts on the Forrester Forum. The modification I did to turn my CC on automatically when the cars starts has been very successful and has been working famously for over 6 months. I don't even think about it now ... start the car, get up to speed and hit set!

Front rh quarter panel/ wheel arch

I replaced both of mine after hitting a kangaroo. Once you remove the plastic inner liners and plastic bumper the fenders are easy to take off. The liners have some screws, a couple of bolts and plastic panel clips to remove. You'll work out how to get the bumper off once the liners are out...

    Overheat on hill under load

About six months ago I was having the exact same problem. I did all the usual checks and narrowed it down to the radiator. I bit the bullet, removed it and took it to a radiator place to pull the tanks off for inspection. Once connected to the flushing rig only around a third of the radiator...

    Cruise control

I digress :offtopic3: but why is the delisting of minor parts acceptable? They're all doing it. They force motorists to discard good components that only require a small part to fix them. Perfectly good components wind up in the scrap yard or landfill. In the next breath these corporations...

    Coolant colour

My 2011 D40 and my friends 2012 D40 both use the blue stuff. We've recently changed our coolant and used this diluted 50/50 with demineralised water...

    D40 suspension Thai and Spanish

When I purchased a HD suspension package of rear leafs, front struts and shock absorbers the supplier didn't differentiate between Thai and Spain. He said those components were the same for either build. However other components are different like ball joints, control arms etc so always double...

    Limited Slip Diff??

You can get an electric locker from: Eaton Harrop E-Locker Suitable for Nissan Navara NP300 2015-20 Rear (without Factory Locker) (Each) | Superior Engineering. ARB also have e lockers. I'm pleased with the helical/worm gear type of LSD which may also interest you. I prefer an LSD because it...

    Limited Slip Diff??

As I said in a previous post, ABD is tricky marketing speak. It's just the traction control and anti lock braking system ... aka TC/ABS. They're trying to make it sound like there's something extra but there isn't. So therefore my Mercedes has ABD/ABS/TC as did my Ford XR6 Turbo. The TC system...

    Limited Slip Diff??

No it won't cause the computer hernias ... I installed an LSD into my chipped Mercedes C320CDI 3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel with 600Nm of torque which has all the usual driving aids including TC. The LSD, TC, EBD, Stability Control and ABS work together seamlessly. Without the LSD the brakes would...

    Limited Slip Diff??

According to this it doesn't have an LSD: Nissan Navara RX (4X2) 2019 Price & Specs | CarsGuide So Carsguide says ... Active Brake Limited Slip. This is being tricky because it really means the traction control system. Not too many cars have LSD's these days because in the drive to reduce...

    Limited Slip Diff??

You had both rear wheels off the ground with the engine running in gear? I have a Mercedes car with an LSD and the rear wheels spin the same way when they're off the ground on stands, engine running and the transmission is in gear. The Navara D40 does the same.

    Limited Slip Diff??

On my 2011 Thai built D40 ... the rear diff cover has "80W-90 LS oil only" letters cast into the alloy just above the filler plug.
  16. Scott52

    Limited Slip Diff??

Actually ... if they go the opposite way it's a conventional open diff ... if the rear wheels spin the same way it's an LSD. I did this check before buying my 2011 Thai built D40 just to make sure it it was an LSD.

    Voltage Sensing Relay (VSR) question

A typical 12V battery has 6 x 2 volt cells internally connected in series. When the VSR closes you have two lots of 6 x 2 volt cells connected in parallel which is essentially one battery. As LM says the voltage regulator exists to prevent over charging and we don't have smart alternators so...

    Outback Trip - Prep, advice

As OMB says it's important to have the means to contact the outside world. When I go to extreme remote areas I hire a Sat phone for about $10 per day which is cheap. You have that part covered as other members of the convoy are equipped with HF radio and Sat phone. From experience it seems...

    Outside Temp Display

An update after a test drive ... The thermistor on the end of the cable is has no damping. OEM thermistors are encapsulated for protection and to smooth out temperature fluctuations When driving the probe reacts too quickly. You stop at the lights and the temperature quickly rises probably due...
